Don’t be like me.
As a feral teenager with a large perm and a cocky attitude – I was left almost completely to my own devices.
Also, importantly – I didn’t find being organised very interesting.
Upshot: I was massively disorganised.
What I did find interesting was;
- going to places I was too young for,
- getting my hair permed,
- doing dancing competitions,
- being outrageous.
My GCSE results bear that out.
(Crammed them in a week and barely skidded under the door with mostly undeserved Cs and an unfathomable couple of As in English…and an E in needlework ? )
I did like writing, though, so maybe that was it.
We tend to focus on the things that we like.
The benefit of having written over 800 blogs/emails in recent years, is that I have captured and organised a lot of my thoughts.
As someone with a formerly not-fit-for-purpose memory, it’s very helpful to see how far I’ve come.
In fact, pretty much all the blogs were about things that I needed to do better;
When I didn’t sleep enough – I researched sleep, sorted it out, and wrote about it.
Years ago, I was working too hard and spent too much time in front of a screen.
So much so it actually made me ill – and I changed ALL of that.
(And then wrote and created stuff to make sure that other people didn’t do it.)
But the BIG game-changer, the lynchpin – the thing that means all the things work – is mastering TIME.
That thing I had LEAST affinity with, no skills or interest in.
But it was letting me down.
- I was taking on too much and getting overwhelmed.
- Neglecting important things, like health.
- Not achieving enough goals.
So I went on courses, read books, spoke to experts, and learned the very best way to turn it around. Now:
- I don’t miss appointments.
- I know what I’m doing, what I need to do next.
- Don’t leave things to the last minute.
- I see projects and plans taking shape so fast it’s ridiculous.
- No overwhelm, no stress and I sleep like a teenager.
(Why do they say sleep like a baby?
Babies don’t sleep. You can’t wake teenagers up!)
What’s kind of annoying, is that I actually LIKE being organised now.
If I’d done it sooner – I’d be so much further ahead than even now.
(You can’t think like that or you’d drive yourself bonkers).
I actually look forward to Alexa telling me what I’m doing today, and my computer telling me to stop wasting time.
Fundamental systems and little hacks to get more done and have more free time.
Because I was SO sh*t at it / am a hedonist- I put a lot of time into finding the most enjoyable ways to do it.
(Obvs we created a BRILLIANT course on mastering time,
but it’s not available at the moment unless you are in our membership)
Also, it takes about a month, and I’m thinking – if you’re feeling overwhelmed… you probably want something much quicker and smaller than that.
So that’s what we are making at the moment.
Something simple to fix your overwhelm, fast.
A FREE super-condensed, value-packed gem of the smallest thing that can get you the biggest results.
