Kaizen is a Japanese system or philosophy used in billion dollar businesses for successful change.
But it is also seen as the wise (and best) way to make changes in your life
But it is also seen as the wise (and best) way to make changes in your life
Kaizen says you shouldn’t make sudden changes but to make them slowly, wisely and continuously.
This makes them permanent.
This makes them permanent.
Many of our efforts to change (like New Year’s Resolutions) are practically always doomed.
Sorry about that.
This is because sustained effort is exhausting.
Our limbic brain is programmed to save energy and avoid you being exhausted.
Our limbic brain is programmed to save energy and avoid you being exhausted.
The continued battle is between the limbic area of the brain (which wants to protect you from starvation and exhaustion)
…and our logical brain (which wants to eat healthy food, exercise and improve ourselves).
and without training – the limbic brain always wins.
This is why we start with enthusiasm… but eventually – we run out of gas and stop.
We are literally programmed to fail.
Ta-daaaa: Kaizen to the rescue.
(Kaizen fits beautifully with Mindfulness and these are 2 of the principles are at the heart of our online programme: The Project.
This is why we are different.
Ours is a long term end to the quick-fixes)But anyway…

Here’s what you can start doing NOW – something that WORKS – and won’t exhaust you.
The 1-minute principle
(A popular Kaizen technique)
You simply perform a task for one minute every day – at the same time of day.
It might be learning a language, doing press-ups, meditating – whatever you want.
And you do that thing for just 1 minute a day at the same time every day.
No more.
Just one minute.
See at first that seems like a total waste of time
“how’s one minute of exercise a day going to make any difference?”
But actually what you start very quickly to see is SUCCESS.The thing becomes easier.
You get better at it.
Stronger.
More focussed.
And success triggers your dopamine production – the happy hormone… and that stuff is seriously addictive. It removes the struggle, and actually makes you want to do MORE.
(Winner’s theory – it’s fascinating – we’ll talk about that another time)

So eventually – rather than force yourself to raise your 1 minute to 5 minutes – you are literally champing at the bit to do more.
And so the habit is formed.
It becomes second nature – and you have overwritten your old “save energy at all costs” subprogramme and replaced it with a “can’t wait to get going” one.

Try it yourself – and if fitness is your aim, you could try our January blast.
We send you a reminder every day to do just a little exercise (we show you what)
increasing the amounts in painless amounts for the whole of the month.
