Action 3: Identify the MUSTS

Firstly – highlight the things you MUST DO.

Must might mean…

  • If you don’t do the thing, you will end up with more work later
  • You or someone you love will become ill
  • Your health or happiness is affected
  • It affects your safety and security
  • You will personally suffer financially
  • Your house will burn down
  • Future you will wish they’d had the conversation
  • You’ll lose your house
  • You’ll break the law (and get caught 😉 )
  • You’ll feel unhappy

Look at each item on your MUST list…
and then look past it.

  • When they’ve been achieved – what’s the outcome??
  • What will doing it bring you?
  • What will it demand of you?
  • Will it be worth it?
  • If you are not sure how you are going to get some of them done – KEEP THEM… just put a question mark by them for now.

Then reach for the
black marker of NOPE.

Look closely at the list – are there some you actually don’t REALLY need to do right now.

Are they actually musts?
We are on emergency power only when we are dealing with overwhelm – when you have freed up mental space – we will revisit the other things.

To Recap:  Examine each of the things on your Locus of Control Inner Circle and highlight the ones that are MUST DO (even if you’re not sure how yet)
And take your Marker pen of NOPE and get rid of any pesky bits of leftover non-essential tasks stuck in your teeth.

THEN

  • Show us your refined list – before we go on and get things in order tomorrow.
