Getting Set Up & Welcome, gorgeous.
A very big welcome to your 1st unit…
totally fabulous to have you aboard.
These next couple of units are about getting set up and getting started.
The very best way to do The Project is on a laptop or PC.
… the resources open well on devices and tablets…
but the workouts are definitely better on a larger screen.
Very occasionally people report having an unreliable WiFi signal at home,
they have found benefit from gadgets that can boost the signal inside the home to give greater stability….
you may want to consider this if you know you live in an area with a weak signal.
The majority of people have no problems.
All the resources that you will need will be in links at the bottom of each unit as you progress…
they contain all the videos,
work outs and practices that you need to go with the course units that guide you through the work.
So you will need (if you don’t already have them) to download these free apps from the App Store or iTunes:
1) Dropbox
is for sending you files to keep.
This is so we don’t use your data when you are out of WiFi range (Such as when you go on runs)
For Dropbox, things are pretty straightforward, we give you a link you click it and it goes into your phone to use any time.
A note: What isn’t always obvious to people is the download button
…. top right hand corner = arrow. Sometimes it looks as though you have downloaded a file, but actually all you have done is view it.
To download it click “make available offline” or “save to file” or whatever your particular device uses to store downloaded files.
If you open a file in iBooks it automatically downloads it.
If you don’t click this, the second you go out of range… your track will stop playing, or you will eat heavily into your data allowance.
Here’s run 1 to practice with.
2)Netflix
We suggest extra viewing material in all of the modules that can be found on Netflix.
You can watch from you laptop/PC.
These programs add extra information and inspiration to the topic that we will cover and are useful viewing to enrich what you are doing with us.
It can be helpful to watch these with your partner or friends that are supporting you or trying to understand the ideas behind the work that you are doing
If you don’t have Netflix… it is well worth getting – small monthly subscription (often a free trial offer)
The link below will take you to the Netflix sign in page.
But many of the suggested programs are Ted Talks, which are available from www.ted.com/talks
Each Module will begin with a planning unit – this will inform what you need to do during each module…
We’ve got lots to do – so this first module we will do it step-by-step.
(There will be other shorter ones as we go)
- You need to find a quiet time to work through the units
- and PLAN your activity with the help of your workbook.
Workbooks
PLEASE DOWNLOAD THESE – THEY ARE FILLABLE
(they are printable – if you wish to)
There is a Cook Book, a Work Book and Your Evidence Book – to record and plan
It will be VITAL that you record everything in your recording workbook
whether you have and haven’t completed things
and that you are ruthlessly honest about this.
We are going to guide you through all of this.
If you find you are missing tasks –
your workbook will remind you what they are
and to make plans to catch up, or avoid this happening in the future.
Your recording workbook is for YOU – we won’t ask to see this.
But it will be SO VALUABLE as you progress through The Project
Keep it to hand…
And you may want to keep the recording workbook somewhere safe,
particularly the mindfulness and base line and mood work sheets as they ask you to record personal thoughts.
Facebook Group
You need to be in this…. a private community of other Projectees, past and present, it is a great place to get inspiration, ask questions and get support if you get stuck or life chucks you a curve ball and you need a kick to get you back on track …
Even if you are not on Facebook right now, we have women who get an account and only use it to interact in Project Accountability group … here is the link that will take you to the group to request access
We will be in the group each day for office hours
There are files in the group that will help with FAQ
The Next few days is for GETTING READY;
- Making sure you know what you are doing
- That you have everything you should have
- Having time to get answers to any questions you might have.
And setting up the nuts and bolts that are going to take you forward through the project.
There is a list of our courses at the bottom – click The Project, it will take to back to the start page with all the Modules and Units in, this will be at the end of every unit, as well as the ‘Mark as Complete’ button
