OK, so we are blatantly showing off someone we are hugely proud of.
It seems like a humblebrag
Naomi is a Mum, an Oxford-Educated Biochemist, Solicitor,
Semi-Professional Choral Singer…
well, let’s just say time is at a premium.
She found the time and did the work.
Simple as that.
And in doing the work.
She turned everything around.

It doesn’t feel right to focus this review on just one element of the work that Tanya and Claire do through Wise and Gorgeous,
as there is so much of value here.
My ‘story’ is a little too long for this space,
so I will attempt to give a flavour of all that I have benefited from in the last year or so.
After a few months of following W&G posts on Facebook,
I launched in with both feet spontaneously (very unlike me) and signed up for The Project in early 2018.
My initial aims were to live a healthier life and to find joy in my home and family life,
although I discovered so much more.
During this process, I made time in my already full life to prioritise healthy food and make time for exercise,
guided along the way by Tanya and Claire
and supported by the wonderful group of women who were also working through The Project alongside me.
During the later modules, we were encouraged to set longer-term goals
and it became apparent that in order to find the joy I crave I would need to make some major changes,
not least in tackling a life-long debilitating phobia.
I have had various forms of treatment over the last 25 years to help treat my emetophobia (phobia of vomiting)
which leaves me overthinking every little thing
and in its most upsetting moments prevents me from being comfortable spending time alone with my wonderful daughter.
Becoming a mother left me more anxious than I had expected
and through the work I undertook during The Project
I realised that this anxiety impacts in a far greater way upon my life than I had ever allowed myself to acknowledge before.
This acknowledgement was a turning point for me and was definitely the first step towards healing.
I now understand the importance of exercise in maintaining my mental health and reducing anxiety
and attending exercise classes run by Tanya alongside the outdoor running encouraged on The Project
and the yoga I also now enjoy at home has really helped.
I also attend weekly relaxation sessions with W&G which are the perfect start to the week and have been a massive positive influence in helping me to develop self-calming skills.
In the last two or three months I have been working one to one with Claire in hypnotherapy sessions,
although hypnosis is not the only technique we have been using.
Both Tanya and Claire are qualified in using a broad variety of techniques
which they have employed to help bolster my confidence and help to minimise the negative self-talk.
This willingness to apply several complementary methods to attack the problem from multiple angles has been so important in helping me with this phobia that has no obvious cause and is an approach that no therapist, NHS or privately paid has suggested previously.
I am already in a different place mentally and emotionally than I ever believed possible,
and my mindset has shifted so much that I feel completely different about the fear
which has prevented me from living my best life for so long.
Tackling this with Claire’s generous, empathetic, firm, non-judging, and at appropriate times, humorous support has empowered me to seek out the joy that already exists in my daily life in ways that I had never expected.
If you ever find yourself thinking ‘I wonder if I should…’ in relation to one of the services offered by W&G, please don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it. These wonderful people are truly life changing!

How amazing is she! We couldn’t be prouder of her.
We definitely didn’t drive to her house to make sure she did the things we asked.
We trusted when she’d marked things as ‘done’ – that she’d done them (quite possible to lie, obviously, but what would be the point?)
She trusted the process when we set possibly weird-sounding tasks.
And she SMASHED it!
That’s all we’ll ever ask of you – we run challenges, have things you can have for free – as well as other with other ways to work with us.
You will always get the best we know, whether it’s a post, a video – or whisk you away on a retreat – and we take your trust and time seriously!
