When I sign up for courses… I don’t always see them through.
Often I do – but holding my hands up – other times, I start out well and mean to come back to it.
Then I don’t come back to it.
(which is slightly terrifying to realise about myself as I’ve personally just signed up for another year-long course… and it’s not cheap!)
Currently, we are writing a free 5-day challenge, like a mini-course
(which is why I’ve been thinking about this whole thing)
We had over 1200 people do our last challenge
(The 5-day Life Declutter)
It was big and bold and helped people to make massive changes in their lives.
And to be honest – no one finished the whole thing in 5 days, in fact, some people were still at it a month later.
But – nearly everyone DID complete it in the end!!!
The funniest email I got at the time was from a woman taking the challenge with “5 Days – My arse” in the subject line.
She did, however, leave a spectacular review so I let her off (have a look on our page – there are loads of reviews on there)
Normally we run that particular one once a year or so.
But things feel different this year.
Every time we do, people achieve incredible results in their lives and leave us amazing testimonials.
Then we get to feel good about that.
We thought about running it again – but honestly – it doesn’t feel as though the timing is right.
People tell us they feel a bit overwhelmed at the moment.
(not laying on the floor, groaning, unable to cope with life, overwhelmed):
but words/phrases that we’ve heard in our groups:
- I’ve got extra things to do in less time,
- I seem to be either juggling or multitasking,
- I seem to be mulling things over more
- Life seems noisier.
- Work keeps piling it on.
- Someone or another wants my attention all day long.
- I’m getting irritated by things I normally laugh off
all of that with way less of the usual things available to let off steam.
Streamlining and systemising life – that’s the stuff we are known for.
So, of course, we had to sort this one out – especially now while the world is so bonkers.
The major issue was – if people feel overwhelmed with too much on their plates – giving them more to do to fix it … even though we know it WOULD fix it…
…well how’s that going to work?
You see the dilemma.
So we thrashed it out.
Threw a lot of a4 scribbly sheets of paper in the bin.
I broke my office chair by leaning back on it whilst wildly gesticulating, and however ridiculous that scene is in your head, I looked more ridiculous in real life.
Had a heated debate about whether cats were better than dogs (they are).
Drank an entire packet of tea between us
Like practically every good solution in life – this one was simple.
I mean that WAS the solution.
Keeping it simple.
Paring it back.
When you haven’t got much time – that time can’t be wasted.
Not even a second of it.
If you’ve done one of our challenges or courses before – you know it’s going to be good.
But this one won’t be what you think.
You know that feeling when you take your bra off at the end of the day, kick off your shoes and slip into a warm bubbly bath.
This one will feel like that, but for your mind.
We make the kind of courses that we would sign up to – and complete.Keep your eyes peeled – this one will probably be a one-time thing.
Unprecedented wotsnames and all that.
