Love & Connection –A quickie: Private Cosiness
A slightly anomalous practical one, but I think it’s important.
If you’ve done our Hygge challenge –
you’ll know I’m nuts about the Hyggekrog.
A cosy corner or little personal space that’s just for you.
Today I want you to consider that each of you, however snugly the family fits in the house – needs some personal space.
Can you find a personal cosy corner for each member of the family?
Whilst it can be glorious to live together, sometimes we need a little solitude – especially when the weather gets cooler and there’s less opportunity to get outside.
And it’s a fun thing to do.
A traditional Danish Hyggekrog will have blankets, maybe a cushion, a book, a music player, a candle or whatever makes sense for the person.
It could be by a window, or in a quiet corner of a room somewhere.
The rules are –
Your Hyggekrog is yours and yours only.
You get to choose where it is.
If you leave stuff there – it should stay there.
Things shouldn’t be borrowed or tidied up by someone else.
Having an opportunity to take time out is an important aspect of living together – have a look at the Hygge challenge for more ideas on this, and more reasons it’s just a superb idea.
We’d LOVE to see the cosy spaces you create.
