Biohacking
The Missing Piece
Definitions:
Bio (Biology):
The scientific study of living organisms.
Hacking:
Manipulating or modifying a system or process to achieve a goal.
Bio-Hacking:
Self-experimentation, practice or modification to improve one’s biological state in a non-conventional way.
Technically Biohacking could be anything from drinking more water to having RFID chips implanted under your skin, that open your garage door
– and everything in between.
Biohacking ‘modalities’ offer an often philosophical, intelligent approach to medical (and pseudo-medical), nutritional, and technological interventions.
Making time to look closer at how you operate – and the idea of staying well… rather than just curing illness when things go wrong.
In some cases, Biohacking steps out of the conventional boundaries or norms of health practices, exploring more unconventional or innovative methods,
There’s sometimes an ‘East-meets-West’ approach, bringing ancient traditional practices up to date.
Sometimes it’s unequivocally science-backed… and other times, it’s a bit barking bonkers.
in others – it’s harnessing good old-fashioned common sense, repackaged for the wellness industry.
So you see it’s a broad church – and currently it welcomes all-comers with open arms
(trained, insured or otherwise),
so as with everything – it’s worth doing your own research before parting with money or trusting your health to anyone.

Biohacking is a shift to a more proactive, personalised approach to feeling great.
We’ll give you our take – and the science – as we delve deeper into some of these strategies (positive and negative) in this last mini-series in Healthy Body.
In this final chapter of our Healthy Body series, we step into the eclectic world of Biohacking – a mix of the familiar and the futuristic, the sensible and the seemingly barmy.
Biohacking is about more than just quick fixes; it’s about understanding and enhancing our bodies and minds in ways we never thought possible.
Let’s dive into this kaleidoscope of health practices, deciphering the science and the sometimes outlandish, to find what really works in the pursuit of optimal wellness.
A final note – Biohacking’s edgier side, like chip implants or experimental supplements, calls for a hefty dose of caution.
It’s definitely exciting, but not without risks.
Always do your homework, chat with health professionals, and think about the long game.
When your health is on the line, never be shy of asking questions and proceeding with caution.
While pushing boundaries is part of the Biohacking charm, staying safe is always the smartest hack
